Easter Blessings

I wanted to post something amazing today for Good Friday, but I don't think there is anything more amazing than what was already done for us. I know so many of us, myself included, have so much to do today to get ready for the Holiday weekend, but please make sure that in the midst of all the hustle and bustle of the day, you take time to stop and really think about what Good Friday is all about. That on a Friday afternoon so many years ago, an innocent man was beaten, humiliated and crucified for us, so that we can have eternal life with Him. No one did it to Him, He did it for us!!
Think about that amazing love, that seems so hard to comprehend. That love is so amazing. Remember who you were before Jesus came into your life and made you new. Think about what your life might be like today if you didn't answer the door when you heard Him knocking. What can you do today and this weekend, to give thanks and show that His sacrifice was not in vain?
As I am contemplating what to serve my family, five of whom are male who don't like fish, for dinner besides meat. And trying to explain to them, though we are not Catholic and it is usually a Catholic tradition, why I don't want us to eat meat today. I know it is just a symbol, but it is a sacrifice none the less. To try it for one day. We all have to do things we don't enjoy, but as you deal with those issues remember Jesus in the garden, knowing what was about to happen to Him. The strength it took for Him to face his captors and accept His mission. The strength it took for Him to stand quiet before His accusers. The strength it took for Him to withstand the beatings, and the Grace He showed on the Cross.
Take time today to say a prayer of Thanks to the One who gives you Life.
Have a beautiful Good Friday. I pray that the Lord pours out His blessings on you and your loved ones. And remember what we are celebrating this weekend.

Easter Blessings 2008

"Do you want me to release to you the king of the Jews?" asked Pilate, knowing it was out of envy that the chief priests had handed Jesus over to him. But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have Pilate release Barabbas instead.
"What shall I do, then, with the one you call the king of the Jews?" Pilate asked them.
"Crucify Him!" They shouted.
"Why?What crimes has he committed?" Asked Pilate. But they shouted all the louder, "Crucify him!"
